In an exciting livestream broadcast, Year 8 and 9 students at the Brookhouse Runda campus had the opportunity to participate in scientific investigations alongside Arctic scientists of the UK Science expedition team based at the UK Arctic Research Station in Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard.
This event was designed to ignite students’ curiosity for extreme environments, develop their scientific literacy and skills, point them toward STEM careers and inspire their environmental stewardship.
Our students participated in a live investigation with arctic scientists Jamie Buchanan-Dunlop and Ellie Mackay into acidification and its effect on ocean ecosystems. We believe that these kinds of experiences are vital to developing a love of learning that will carry students forward into successful and fulfilling careers all over the world. Inspired’s international network enables us to provide invaluable exposure to global industries for our students.
