After two previously successful years, the University Fair returned to St. George’s International School, Montreux, Switzerland on Monday, 2 October 2017. This year, almost 60 universities from around the world participated in the event. The evening attracted parents and students from across the region. Students were given the opportunity to talk to university representatives face-to-face, gain first-hand knowledge about the programmes of study available at each university and understand admission requirements. They were also encouraged to discover new unexplored opportunities.
University Guidance Counsellor, Jane Haesler, addressed the students and encouraged them to start thinking about their options for the future sooner rather than later. “From my own experience, having a goal in mind, even if the details change over time, can provide a strong sense of motivation for secondary school students. Researching admission requirements and the degree programmes available benefits students when making subject choices in school from as early as Year 9,” said Haesler.
